THIS GUY!!!!!!

I come home from a business trip out in Philly. My brother tells me to come over has a birthday surprise party waiting for me... Later on he hands me an envelope with the writing saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" inside it's a white piece of paper. I open it up, it was a print out of two tickets for Moto GP that weekend. At first I didn't believe it, we always play practical jokes on each other. When he showed the email confirmation then I believe it. I was freaking stoked beyond belief. He goes and tell me, that last year we did say we have to make it out to Austin or Indy next year.

After yesterday, see Rossi win the Qatar round, It hyped me up even more. My main goal for that weekend is find him and have him sign my GP Tech 5 Continents helmet.

What's also great is that is the season opener for Moto America as well...

It's going to be an epic weekend. I can't wait!!!

We are going to be in the Grandstands at turn 1.

Nice! T1 will be sweet, I went last year to T15 and it was awesome. T1 is out there, so I'd check out the other areas during the earlier races and get to your seats early, because I don't think T1 is near anything else in the concourse.

You'll have an awesome time though no doubt.

He thought about T15 but he didn't like the camera view angle, He liked T1 better. He showed me the difference and I agreed with him. We are going to be running around that entire weekend like little kids....

Absolutely... I'm buying a 64gb memory card for that weekend...

Lol makes me wish I had a brother and not 3 sisters! Have fun man!
Enjoy your time here - it is hard not too (reason we are so crowded).

Expect lines everywhere if you are staying downtown.

Keep in mind there is little shade in most areas - watch the weather, it can change daily.

If your thinking about autographs, get in line early or miss out.

Bring cash - lots of cash - will make some purchases a lot easier.

You will be back.....

Damnit. Another Californian moving here?

:p

Also, I think some of the most exciting races are moto 2/3. Turn 1 grandstands are very hard to leave as the view is great. Last year for Australian V8 supercars I was very happy to move to the main grandstand boxes the last day because of the heat/sun.

He's know how much of a motorcycle race fan I am. He'd figured it would be a great birthday gift. It sure is....

Hula Hut is pretty good. We usually try to go there when we visit Austin: HULA HUT © 2011
That's awesome, I was supposed to go and meet Rossi but fucking revzilla forgot to pick me for their contest
There are very few bad places to eat here - lots of new places everywhere. Most older places have moved or closed (sad case of growth).

(Original) Salt Lick for Bar-B-Q - outskirts of town - west of where you are staying on FM 1826

PM me and I will give you my number if you need anything or help getting around.

Not sure if I am going to make it this year with work - started a new business, but might try to buy a ticket late if possible.
-Jack Allen's
-Moonshine
-Tons of food truck - too many awesome ones to list
-Franklins BBQ - not worth the wait IMO but good. Alternatives are john Mueller, city market (luling and not luling BBQ), also a place in bee caves I like but the name escapes me right now.
-Torchys Tacos
-uchi if you like sushi
- Perry's steakhouse
-pieous

Also tons of local breweries I can recommend. Deep Eddy just opened up shop by my house as well. Their flavored vodka is awesome.

Basically if you need food/drink hit me up. I spend way too much on it each month.

You guys are awesome... Thanks :bigthumb:
Salt lick is great for the experience - BBQ is mediocre but it being BYOB is kind of a plus. Oh and it is cash only. Its only like 2 miles from my house so if you head that way and see a green 2013 ripping down fm150, wave. :)

As he said you are welcome to pm me as well if you have questions. Especially with the new braunfels/San Marcos/Austin areas.
