Gringing noise

I have an 09 zx6 and a couple weeks ago I noticed a slight rattle that sounded a lot like a bad throw out bearing in a car but this didn’t change when the clutch was engaged. It done it at lower rpm’s mainly. Then couple days ago I was leaving work and luckily before I pulled out on the road it sounded like something came apart and sounded like a marble was bounce around and it tried to lock back wheel down. Now when I try to start it it’s got a load high pitch grinding sound. A changed starter and looked at the clutch. Does anyone have any idea to what this can be?

If you're not seeing it in the oil yet, you may have gotten luck and still have an engine that could be rebuilt. There's no telling what has happened; the odds of it being serious are very, very high. If you dropped a valve and that scored a cylinder you would hear some nasty sounds. It might be external to the engine/transmission.... the transmission output shaft bearing my have gone, or something similar.

Put it up on a stand and in neutral spin the rear wheel. Do you hear the noises you are concerned about? Does the wheel spin normally?
