Hi all I have just got myself a new zx636 and what a beauty ! Have always ridden (dare I say it without fear of being hung drawn quarted ) Hondas ...

I bought a second seat and Have took 16 million inches out of it in order to reach the floor :D Looking forward to getting to know you and pick up some hints tips for maintenance when it comes around to it.... just taking the seat off was different to other bikes I had.. having to loosen fairings without fear of breaking clips is an art in itself

Welcome, that's a beautiful bike you got yourself. I did something similar, i bought myself a corbin seat, gave me a good inch of reach, but is still very comfortable, even in longer rides.

Hello and welcome.

Good on you for reducing the seat height vs lowering the bike itself!

The last track day i attended, there was a woman there on a Ducati Hypermotard, her husband/boyfriend would wait for her in the staging area with a small box for her place a foot on to stand so she could reach the ground. When we got the signal she'd take off, and he'd wait in the pits to do the same thing when she returned. It was awesome lol.

Hi Hellonearth thanks for the welcome ...brilliant thats one way of doing it ... I do a lot of solo riding so once I set off would just have to keep going till i ran out of fuel or found a high curb :) The dealer I bought it from was trying to sell the lowering idea to me but I wasnt keen ..have seen lowered ones , apart from the fact i dont like the look, they seem to lose there character , wasnt sure how it would handle either...luckily these seats are really plush so have lots to play with and even one foot is better than no feet right :)

Awsome who knows lol, I think it's about 250miles roughly each way though so by the time I'd get there on the 6r I'd be in need of medical attention or at least a chiropractor lol

Lol you must be more hardcore than me, my best mate lives in Torquay which is about 120miles and after doing that straight all I want to do is get off and stretch, think I'm always in a state of recovery from the gym which probably doesn't help much
