Heyo, this Freakin' Old Guy is still passionate about riding after 300K lifetime miles and counting... just picked up an 07 ZZR w/ 7200 miles, always interested in the ZX6R and so now digging this bone stock example and looking forward to the forum's accumulated wisdom on these great bikes.

Also interested in meeting up with other experienced riders who know The Pace; I am in AZ but will also be spending time in WA and OR this summer - expect to be using the FJR there, so let me know if you don't mind being seen in the same vicinity as a TOURING bike :laugh

What part of AZ are you located in?
I am an older rider (in my 50's) and love riding my sports bike. No ZX6R right now but I am riding my Yamaha R6 and my Triumph Speed Triple.
I ride regularly, and often ride up north with buddies who ride both sport bikes and sport touring bikes.
One of my buddies who I ride with the most Rides a ZX10R, and FJR, and an ST1100. so we are a bit diversified.
We also do long weekend trips, such as Death Valley rides, So Cal rides, Utah, and we are doing a week long Colorado ride in may.
Ever do an extended trip or ride on a sports bike at 50? :)
Thanks for your reply, Desertmach. I like the sound of your group!

I'm in N Phx, age 55, began riding on a '73 Honda XR-75, then had a Combat Wombat, a couple of RD's (350 and 400), KZ1000, RF900, Sprint ST and was an early FJR adopter - got mine in Oct 2002.

Daily commuter since, ah, 1997, IIRC - haven't had a car since. Occasional trackdays, numerous SS 1K's, several BBG's, even a double BBG, 3150 miles in 48 hours w/ the Cognoscente Group, whose leadership includes several LD founding fathers.

Most of this was about 8-10 years ago, so in answer to your question, no, I haven't done a long ride on a sports bike, have just been commuting the last 6 six years (due to a career change and related mandatory fiscal prudence).

Would be happy to meet up with you. Thought I'd head to the Pavilions next Sat, let me know if that'll work or if you'd like to do something else. I generally have honey-dos on Sat and work a few hours Sunday afternoons, but am flexible.
Welcome to the Forums!
Welcome. Glad to see another old guy sign up. I've clocked 53 now and still going strong (just a few more things hurt). Not as many years on the bike but been commuting on a sport bike now for 6 years.
I have not been out the the Pavs in quite a while, what time do you usually arrive out there?
If you want to shoot me a PM maybe we can meetup out there Sat.
Welcome! Post up some pics of your bike.
Welcome to the forum - "from the younglings on planet earth" :devious

Jk...in all seriousness that is a lot of miles under your belt and quite an accomplishment. Welcome aboard my friend :)
Thanks for the welcomes, guys!

Will get a few pics over the weekend, might have a chance to run up to Yarnell/Prescott Saturday morning - good places to stop and take a photo or three.

Am interested in small group rides with other FOGs & youngling's ok too, of course, so long as the group doesn't tend to attract Johnny Law or EMTs...

Welcome. Nice to see another member with some time under their belt. I started out with a CT65, in '72 or so, stole a bunch of seat time on my Brother's TS125, then his Husquevarna CR250 before joining the Navy and seeing the world. I owned a '71 Triumph Tiger -- spent 3 grand on it and blew it up the next week. Been on Japanes bikes ever since.
Thanks for the welcomes, guys!

Keep an eye out going up Yarnell and White Spars this weekend, its bike week so there will more than likely be a lot of bikes, and law enforcement up that way.
I know your from the north valley but South Mountain is open again and its a nice ride during the weekdays if you like twisty's and you don't want to ride an hour to get to them.

I hit South Mountain occasionally on my way home from work, ride it up and down a few times and I have my fix for a bit :)
