I have a 2022 zx636 and thinking to put on a slip on exhaust for weight reduction and better sound.
Staff at dealership told me do not touch or interfere with the servo otherwise you will get an error code.
I saw some slip on exhaust installation video on youtube and ask some friends. Some of them didn't use a servo buddy and some did.
So do I need one before put on the exhaust?
BTW any slip on exhaust you guys recommend

For many years, the EU bikes had more difficult procedures to eliminate the servo than US bikes. I think all bikes are now at a similar level of pain.

If your slip on has the same valve in the pipe as the OEM muffler does, you just hook the cables up to the servo and go about your day.

Removing the servo altogether is more complex than before, imho.

Yes, you need a servo buddy when adding a slip-on exhaust. I'm using the Hindle Evolution cat-back system that replaces the muffler and resonator. Sounds great and sheds about 10 pounds from the OEM unit. The Hindle is one of the cheapest full size cat-back systems at 400-450 dollars depending on which muffler is selected.

The Akrapovic and Graves systems are probably the highest quality but will cost over 600 for the cat-back systems.

I like my 2 bros, it can be a little loud though so keep that in mind

My current slip-on of choice is the M4 street slip on. It replace the last section of stock exhaust including the muffler. It seems like I need a servo buddy after all. Any recommendations 🤣?

That's the one I use on my 2021, worked just fine, I removed the entire servo/cable assembly as well

Make sure NOT to cycle the key on before you plug in the Servo Buddy! We did that and got the dreaded check engine light.
Finally got it off but was a major pain for the last week.
