Decisions: Two brothers or Akrapovic

yes there are threads all over in regards to Both of these,

Do any of you have pictures from your bikes for 2007-2008 zx6r models of any of these exhausts?

Trying to decide if the price difference is worth it for the Akrapovic...

£580 Akrapovic Carbon Fiber slip on only

£290 Two brothers Carbon Fiber Slip On with brake light/indicators/braket

As you can see theres a massive difference and a few extras with the cheaper option...

I do like how the Akky fits, but the Two bothers pricing is nice and still looks good :) Any opinions/pictures from you all?

This a serious question? I'd go with akra reason being akra never been to loud to me has a real good tone nice and crisp 2 bros has a different style to the can which I don't really like my personal opinion

Just like anything else, it comes down to preference. I do like the looks of Two Brothers and being undertail exhausts, it's harder to see anyhow. With that said, I currently have a Two Brothers and their reputation for loud pipes is correct. Way too loud for me and am considering going back to stock or getting a different slip on (my loud may be different than yours). It came in at about 95dB on idle, 103 at 5Krpm. Akrapovic builds great quality pipes not to mention it is not as loud as the Two Brothers.

Two videos showing both 2007s, the first with an Akra and the second with Two Brothers. See what you like and go for it.

I don't mind the two brothers look, but I have always loved the Akrapovic style and look with how it has a near perfect alignment to the shape of the bike, just the price is a little big for a slip on.. when 2 bro's do half the price with the lights aswell.. but then I guess you get what you pay for in terms of a near perfect fit.

hmm.. for something I'm keeping for a few years I do guess its best to keep everything under the "no expense spared" rule. Seeing as it's only for 6.5k on the clock, I may have to just overspend a little haha.:yumyum: Cheers for the opinion!

Ahh I didn't really know they were that loud... I warm my bike up when I use it in a morning and I don't really think anyone in the house or neighbours will appreciate being shaken up in a morning..

I'll have a look into them videos when I'm back from work later, thanks for the links!
One extra thing, say for example I get any of these, Would it need a remap or a PC3?

If so I guess it would also be beneficial to get a performance air filter as well?
ideally yes, but you'll probably get away with just a slipon and no remap (ecu can compensate to a certain degree)

adding an air filter though, can result in the bike running too lean, so I'd remap if going that route

for the price difference, you might be able to get a PCIII and remap (maybe not filter too). Worth bearing in mind if funds are tight..

akra for me though - love how it looks like a factory option, they're such a good fit imo
A pciii is not at all necessary with just a slip on and / or a filter. People used to think the filter made a difference but in reality the difference is next to nothing.

On your bike the jumper mod is going to give you the most power gain without spending some real money.

As for Akro vs Two Brothers there is no comparison. Anything is better than a Two Brothers. Akro is at the top of the food chart.

Mine is backfiring/popping right now after I let go of the throttle from revving. I will block off the valves first
UK bike, so jumper mod not necessary I believe

would still be concerned about running lean, but can pull a plug and check that handily enough
before i got my bike a mate of mine had a fireblade with a two brothers pipe on and loved the sound of it and thought damn one day i hope i can have a bike with a pipe like that, then the bike of my dreams came along and yup, it had that mean two brothers pipe sticking out its ass! Who cares about the "fit"? Damn man that thing deserves to be seen! And it makes your bike sound like a bike should! I will however admit that on the odd occasion ill be riding and think... dammit, shouldv put in some ear plugs.... but then i realise that id be missing out on that sound! :)
after having both first Two Bros and then switching to Akrapovic...

Clear choice is Akrapovic.

I had full systems.

Two Bros being super loud and throaty which sounded nice but that got old.

Akrapovic was more for performance but sounds amazing. The quality of the build is worth the money if you appreciate those kind of things.

I remember passing my brother on a highway run and he said the two bros was ear piercing at full throttle in the high revs range. when I switched to Akrapovic, he mentioned it sounds more like a race bike....

Again clear choice Akrapovic, not only your buying an exhaust, your buying a quality made exhaust, even if its a slip on.

Out of the two I think the akro looks more professional but I wouldn't say no to the 2bro. However...if you havnt seen one for our bikes (07/08) look up the Leo-Vince...that I think is the best fitting/looking exhaust for our years...looks like it really belongs there and is a high quality make
There is LITERALLY no reason to EVER go with 2Bros .... even if it's free :D:

I've had a look for them and couldn't really find any? may just be my searching skills... the cheapest I found the Akropovic is £580 too..

Do you know anywhere that sells the leo vince, as I have seen that, if it's the single pipe one which it kinda triangle shaped undarneath then it looks awesome.
- Appreciated all of the feedback/opinions guys, I think personally I'll have a look into the leo vince and compare prices but at the moment i'm sold on the Akrapovic system. It looks and sounds awesome (thanks for the videos)

- Someone mentioned the "jumper mod", I'm in the UK and I'm sure we don't have to do this one our models?

- Maybe to save me opening a new thread and spamming the board, does anyone in the UK, have any experience with trackers/which would be best? - As having so much spent on the bike I would prefer to have it secured with my chains/disc locks but also fully tracked just in case ;)
This makese want to sell my 2 brothers lol.

haha whys it making you want to do that?
Good choice in the Akra, but the Leo is a great looking/sounding exhaust. Either one would be a great choice. I especially love the fact that the design is somewhat similar to the OEM muffler. I was hunting for one myself before I found a killer deal on a brand new scorpion.

Akra is a more respected name. However, all 600s sound the same to me. But that's what I get for standing next to turbine engines.
