Hey guys, I have a 2000 Kawasaki zx6r bike. I cannot get the clutch arm to disengage the clutch pack. I've been working on this for 6 hrs now. All new oem parts. Clutch cage, clutch pack, new washers and new bearings, new pin and new arm. I just cannot get the arm to catch the rod . When i think i got it. The arm is either way tofar away from the cable..ie to the left or all the way past the cable.i dunno what to do. I have no manual or experience with these clutch system..any help would be appreciated!

Clutch pack will not disengage

if we assume............. the clutch was working pre removal and replacement (sans slipping or whatever)
and given it looks like you have the appropriate 9 frictions.... which steels did you use?
but most likely........ the outer cover plate is not located properly and seated when installed, and thus why you aren't in deep enough to get the lever to align properly to the approx 60* angle where the cable length would not be an issue..
assuming the cable is an oem cable and the proper one
but we can't see enough to know more than make assumptions and guess what the common problems are
outer cover plate must be rotated to the correct orientation to sit down on the plates
pull rod end must be intact as does the release arm that grabs it
some aftermarket levers suck donkey dick and can add many mm of free play to cable length----(but what I see is even too much for that as a stand alone issue)
stack height too thin of frictions and steals
other assembly problems or wrong parts used

I measured the stack and have 1.51 inches as written in the manual. Clutch was not slipping, the whole setup looked great.he handed the original cage and plates and washers and pull rod to me in a box..i see no signs of damage or wear anywhere. I was told that the level went limp and he said it just wouldn't disengage the clutch pac when he pulled the clutch level in anymore.
