Im sure everyone has heard about flipping clip ons by putting the left on the right and the right on the left... I was doing this last night and just messing around with it I had an idea  I took the left clip on and turned it upside down and put it back on the left side. It gives you the same angle (slightly upward) but it basically moved the clip on closer to the rider istead of further away from the rider, giving you more clearance with the upper fairing. Just wondering if anyone has done this and how it compares to flipping them and switching the sides. I already drilled the holes for all the parts on the clip-ons to switch sides so I will probably keep them that way but I was just wondering if anyone has done it this way.

If the clips are closer together it will make turning the bike a bit more difficult. If you notice race bikes.. they usually are pushing the clips OUT to get more leverage on the front end. Just a thought.

That makes perfect sense that it gives you more leverage if they are further out. A lot of stunters say it gives them better control of the bike and I assume the same for racers. I am setting mine up so they are pushed out further I had just never heard anyone ever say anything about just turning them over but keeping them on the same side so I just figured I'd ask. Thanks.

Another clipon question. Yesterday I was at a local bike shop and I was looking at the yamahas and gsxr's. The clip-ons on those bikes seem to be a little more horizontal and not so much of a sweep angle as the Kawasaki bikes. Anyone know why Kawasaki makes their clip-ons so low and angled back toward the rider?
