cam chain tensioner or cam chain issues?

hey guys, i have a 2007 ZX6R, i recently noticed a tick sound coming from which seems to be the CCT area. I removed my CCT and it was on the 4th click out. Rest it, and reinstalled it. still making a tick/slapping sound, what do you think my next step should be? A new CCT? new cam chain? need some advice, thanks

If it's just a tick it might be a case of it just not being loose enough to get it to the next notch on the CCT. Now, the "slap" noise you mention sounds like something not normal to me. It's hard to tell anything from video but if you could get a video of what you are hearing it "might" help. Is it coming from the right side of the motor more than the left?
i will post a video, and yes, its much louder on the right side of engine
i would verify valve clearance is still within spec, some o7 had faulty shims and they would smash causing excess gap leading to dropping a valve. abnormal tick can be first sign

posted video in my description, hard to make the tick out with the sound of the bike, but you get a bit
So's the video. :) Must have clicked the next notch. Yeah, that's the trouble with the auto CCT. Right before it gets loose enough to click the next notch it will make a lot of noise. So in that regard the noise IS normal with the stock CCT.

Here's a hint, the cam chain design Kawasaki uses is good for 100k miles of service at the minimum. Unless you do something stupid to the tensioner it will last the effective life of the motorcycle.
Mine lasted about 5k before I took it out and threw it.

stock auto adjuster or the manual cct? most high end motor builders install the manual units. Ski
I use the manuals. Still need to get one for my new bike.
