Hi all

My winter project come the next few months is to completely rebuild the front calipers

I hope to do this with out needing new seals (is that too much to ask for?)

But which grease is best for the seals after I have removed and cleaned? Red rubber, copper or Dot 4 Fluid?

Bike only has 8k miles on it but im guessing the brakes have never been touched as when i fitted the braided hoses the fluid was quite a dirty, merky, cloudy colour

a rebuild is replacing all the rubber parts.
is it?

I thought it was a take it apart, clean and then rebuild it repalcing what is required to be replaced

If i'm wrong the I now plan to do a caliper over haul???

its your brakes and maybe one of the most important parts to keep on top of so dont go for half a job get the full kit and replace all seals etc
for what its worth

just make sure when putting them back together everything is clean and dust / shit free

I understand what your saying but there is no point replacing when a good clean can cure

I have found that wemoto supplies individual seals so I may take that route but if required I will replace all
