The R10 is a DOT race tire similar to the Dunlop D211 GPA. At least that's what I've read. I'm an intermediate rider so the S-20's have been working fine for me and the price is right.
A RS Bridgestone is a street tire. RS = Racing Street. The RS10 is a track tire. Running it ad a street tire is a bad idea because you won't get it up to temp oh the street. For a street tire the S20 Evo is their highest end tire. Anything more is a DOT race tire.
I was thinking for track only....but maybe its better for me to stick with S20s since I am still a beginner and wouldnt mind being able to street ride it...The RS10 is a track tire. Yes but with a stronger emphasis on racing than street. Only good for a limited number of heat cycles and doesn't reach proper temp under most stretch riding conditions.A RS Bridgestone is a street tire. RS = Racing Street.
Heat cycles don't apply to modern tires. You will run a DOT race tire out of tread before they go bad due to heat cycles.Only good for a limited number of heat cycles .
Did not know that. Still you likely won't get one up to temp on the street.Heat cycles don't apply to modern tires. You will run a DOT race tire out of tread before they go bad due to heat cycles.
The RS10 is not a race tire...it's comparable to the Pirelli Supercorsa SP. The supercorsa SP looks like the SC DOT race tire but it's a street compound. The SP is OEM on many of Ducati's superbikes. The RS10 is the OEM tire for the new R1 and R1M.Did not know that. Still you likely won't get one up to temp on the street.
BT003 were a DOT race tire. Then they came out with BT003 RS as a hyper street tire. Same construction and tread pattern but street compound. The RS10 is basically the same idea. Take the R10 DOT race tire construction and tread pattern but give it a street compound. The S20's were not derived from a DOT race tire. They were intended as a hypersport street tire from the begining.I guess what I'm most confused is the RS10s are supposed to be the replacement for the BT003s, but I thought those were inferior tires to the S20s. Yet everybody is talking about them like they are track potential tires. Am I misinformed??? Haha
Why don't you come out to ACH tomorrow and break them in? KSU at 9am ish. Meeting at the Shell station off the 210 and Angeles Crest Highway/ La Canada/ FlintridgeI picked up a set 120/180 for $220.00 from Moto Mummy delivered to the door. A bit better price than the Q3 right now. I can get the Q3 installed/balanced on the wheels for $245.00 at Wheels in Motion( Chatsworth/Canoga Park Area), for any of the peeps in Southern California. Great place to buy rubber.
