My opinion. 10W40 Motorcycle specific oil.

Good quality mineral oil if you change it regularly.
Synthetic oil if you're slack.

I don't know if anyone checks the data sheets over there. Rotella hasn't been marketed here for a while, it's called Rimula. Our diesel oil (and Europe too) is more environmentally friendly than the US stuff. When the US catches up and drops the level of some of the additives that benefit motorcyles like they have here, it's better to use motorcycle specific oil.
Shell diesel synthetic oil

Valvoline anything oil

stay away from over priced motorcycle oils

any diesel oil would be great

Mobil 1 synthetic

(auto grade oil won't cause clutch slipping)

x2 on the shell rotella best oil in my book for the $$$$
This is actually a Truck oil?
it's an oil that has an additive package that works well in diesel engines.

This same additive package works well in motorcycle engines

Went to Wal-Mart and I cant find Rotella T 5W-40 but I found 10W-40 in the same color 1 Quart bottle. Where do you find this oil?
Part of an article I read:

"Semi-synthetics" are oils which are a blend of petroleum oil and no more than 30% synthetic oil. If the manufacturer adds no more than 30% synthetic oil and does not change the additive package, they do not have to recertify the oil. These days, since everyone has agreed that Group III base oils are "synthetic," I'm not sure "semi-synthetic" means anything at all. The manufacturers love this stuff: it costs about 15% more to make the oil, and they get to charge about double. I don't recommend semi-synthetics. Save your money and take your kids to McDonalds.
Rotella Synthetic from SuperWalmart only. With the money I save. I buy a gallon of rotella conventional as well. I drain the oil. throw in the conventional along with 1/3 quart of automatic transmission fliud (acts as a detergent) run around the block a couple times till hot. Then drain and fill w/ Rotella Syn. My oil looks like honey for weeks and my engine stays squeaky clean!

Great suggestion Marley, but seeing as they're 16, 19 and 21 don't think they'd be too impressed, they all prefer the local pizzaria.
what do you all think about motul semi? thats the one that kawasaki dealer use here
It's Amsoil 10w40 then everyone else !!!
This man knows his stuff. Amsoil is all I'll rock in mine.
I just bought a 2000 ZX-6R last week. It came with Mobil 1 synthetic - Is this not a good oil?
