Hello everyone! I'm new to the site. Looking at doing a track day bike with a 1998 ZX-6R G1. I need new forks and don't know which route to take. I was wondering if I should use an upgraded fork or if I can put a new model 6R fork on it. Any info on the rear shock will be much appreciated as well!

Wecome aboard Ninja98....If you wanted to use later forks and rear shock you would have to take measurements to make sure that the components fit. Probably a better solution would be to take your existing forks and rear shock and have them re-built by a proffessional suspension rebuilder.

I would just have the stock stuff reworked, your probably looking at quite a bit of modding just to get the newer stuff to work. Not to mention that the newer stuff is set for the weight of the newer bikes, which is much lighter than the older bikes. I could be wrong but I think your money and time would be best spent in setting up your stock stuff with upgraded parts.

Good luck at the track, it's an addicting hobby and sometimes a painful one!
