Hi. I am going to buy a 2023 Ninja ZX-6R in blue, non-ABS in 2 weeks! The dealer has already put on a yoshimura exhaust, frame sliders, and fender eliminator kit. He is saying with tax and fees, out the door is $15,219. The msrp is $10,699... seems like a big jump. Just looking for an opinion. Thanks!

Man that’s messed up. But honestly bro you should have just left. They dint force you to buy it and trying to just throw in a box of extra shit not even installed and saying the only way they will sell it is with the box of stuff is shady

as for the tag it may not be 100% there fault. Could be tho. But we normally send off the registration the day after we sell a bike. And sometimes the dmv just drags their feet. It happened a lot last year with Covid. But they also should have told you that if it’s getting close to the 30 days just come back and they will issue you a new temp. Dealers can legally issue as many as it takes for the dmv to get their shit together. Years ago we just got paper tags and fill them out but now. Least in my state all that shits monitored through the dmv and we print them per bike and they only allow us one print for bike. Unless 26 days had past and registration hasn’t been sent to the customer then we can print another one.

honestly buddy it sounds like you should look around for a different dealership. A good dealership is worth its weight even if you pay a few more. We always take care of our customers repair before non customer bikes. We have a shady dealership a hour or so away who cuts our prices just enough to sell. But when the customers have issues they end up coming to us. And it sucks for them because even warranty work we have to take care of our customers first so that usually means a wait for them. Guess what I’m saying is there is more to choosing a dealership than just the over all out the door price. That helps but it’s also nice having a dealership who will go to batt for you on repairs and especially warranty. Because some people will just say they tried and leave you hanging. And the first Thing the manufacturer wants to do is blame the customer. Especially Ktm and susuki

sorry rants over. Hope it works out for you. If you still don’t have your tag tho make them issue a new temp

Congratulations!
numbers can be always a little awkward to talk about but since we are sharing.. I paid 11, 900 OTD for the SE model … just a black 636 . Basically bike was 11k .. surcharge /setup was 735 & the change was doc fee etc. I went to my dealership on new year eve day .. not sure it helped but I know I didn’t pay msrp on the rmv-1 form as it stated I paid 10,750 which helped a little at the registry ! This is my 4th 636 and I’m looking forward to modding it up. That’s something I personally enjoy doing. that’s a bit of a scam with them putting modifications on and hiking the price.. very happy for you working on getting that number down to where it should be!

our freight is 800 on these.
Not too shabby! So 11k plus $800 .. any dealer setup fee? Where are you located?

We don’t charge a doc fee or setup fee. The only thing on top of that is the taxes and registration. We are located in east Tn

If you are in Nc foothills motorcycles also does the exact same prices and if your state has cheaper taxes if you buy in Nc you don’t pay taxes at the dealership so it would technically be cheaper. Of course they will collect in your state when you go to tag it. But I see a lot of off-road people go to Nc to buy to avoid the taxes. Or if you buy here and have a Nc address we don’t have to charge you the taxes.
taxes and registration in my state are about 800$ on these.

the trouble is availability right now. We haven’t been able to get a few of these in the last year and I have kept two for myself lol.

I was referring to the dealers in New England. Everything is more up here. Relative to this area That’s something you can’t avoid here . The price breakdown was what they originally wanted.. I got them down to 11,900 which I felt was fair.
As far as availability there are quite a few in stock. Actually almost every dealership I know in a certain mile radius has at least one in stock. Off season in New England plays a role in this. Once it warms up a bit everyone that rides gets the itch to buy .

You can usually expect 1k delivery and whatever they charge doc fee. Plus your tax and registration and those extras plus labor. I missed the extras part at first so yea I’d say that sounds right. Yosh isn’t cheap and they obviously bypassed the servo for the chancel engine light so that’s 50-60 bucks and there labor

I’m sure they will give you a break down of all the cost. It’s that 1k shipping freight deliver or whatever they call it cost is what stuns people. And it’s a legit charge. Dealers depending how we buy don’t really make anything off new bike sells. It’s the service and parts where we make money to keep the lights on.
I bought it! if you guys want to follow along, YouTube- BassmanMoto. Thanks again!

We're expecting burn-out and wheelie vids within the next 2 weeks.
Expecting burn-out and wheelie vids.
HAHA. maybe one day. No time soon. Lol.
I am in Argentina, when I see how cheap motorcycles are for you I don't know whether to cry or shoot myself in the temple, in case anyone has any questions, the values expressed in the attached link are in US dollars:

And yes, you read correctly, a 22 Zx6R KRT despite having been stopped at the dealer for 1 year, is worth triple that of a 23 for you.
Logically, the value of used bikes is also proportional to the new ones, I can put my 07 up for sale for 13,000 US dollars and they would take it out of my hands, with that money I buy a new 23 in the US.

I bought a new 22 KLR 650 a year ago, I paid 17,000 US dollars for it, in the US it is worth 6,000.

a quick google search says the average salary in Argentina is about $15000 USD per year, and the US average is $54000, so that would be the rough equivalent of a zx6 costing over $100,000 in the states.
Mine was 10300 plus tax and state registration
I purchased my brand new 2023 black/red non ABS model for 12.5 out the door in August 2022. I purchased in Topeka, KS
