Yep. Honestly the ride is about the same. New gens slightly more power but every bike varies so much depending on break in, mods and just the fact no two engines produce the same numbers. But the new gens will always be a little stronger due to the obvious. But it’s not like you’re comparing a 600 to a litter bike. A new gen will cost you more. Be easier to find. It’s a decision only you can decide tho. If you have 10k to spend and can find a gen like you had in great shape cheaper that will give you the extra money to build it the way you want to.
if I found a 13 with 100 miles and a 2020 with 100 miles and they both was the same price I’d prob get the 20. If the 13 was 1/3 cheaper I’d get it. Your challenge will be finding an older gen that’s not been ragged out. Being all things equally the new gen will just be shinier. It’s not like the technology has evolved to where the older gens arnt relative.
If I could buy a brand now 03/04 I’d buy it over a 23. But that’s just MY favorite gen. Find a new gen ride it and then decide if it’s worth the extra money
I’m slightly impressed you have a girlfriend who rides a litter bike tho.
