Recently got some really helpful advice on here so going to ask another question. Need to replace my oil pan on my 2006 ZXR. Looking at a used one that says it's to my bike but differs a little bit such as oil drain plug location among a couple other small differences. I'll attach photos of the used pan I'm looking at.

If it’s visibly different than your current OEM pan, I would recommend passing on it. It may be possible to get your current damaged pan repaired, but it would be better to have a machine shop do that work.

Oil eventually works past pretty much any kind of glue or epoxy. Having someone MIG/TIG weld up any cracks or holes would be a much more effective solution.

Ya. Doesn’t look like the correct 06 pan to me. Like RJ SAID. repairing is super easy if it’s just a cracked or stripped bung. Post pictures of your damage. Chances are Find a good tig welder and they shouldn’t have much of a problem. I just repaired a very cracked one. He hit a brick in the road split it about 6”. Weld and smoothed it’s good as new. Prob like 100$ fix at a local welder.

The pan is cracked in several places around the drain hole and up the wall. Cant really see in a photo. Looks like previous owner tried to put a coat of flex seal on the outside of it 😆 🤣 😂 😹 it's a total mess......SMH

The risky part with the used part, is you run a chance of it not being flat, or already cracked or stripped out on the drain plug.... well worth your time to inspect it very carefully before installing it.
