Does those service records show AtLeast 1 valve adjustment. Because you are closing in on time for the second one. Your gen bike is I think 7200 miles between valves . If I’m wrong I’m not wrong by much.

but you need to provide way more information and try and only make one thread per question. Just gets confusing

Well none of that ever shows your valves was done. Possibly they checked them at 4k Miles one. But that doesn’t make sense because the spec is to check and adjust at 7kish. I have never checked one and they not need shimmed.

and that price isn’t even close to “high”. Even for an oil change and a good tire. Unless they used cheap oil and a very cheap tire. Tire alone should be close to 200$.
If you have owned this for almost 14k and that’s the only service that’s been done to this bike then you 100% have never had the valves adjusted and at 14k miles I’d be doing that asap. At the very least it 100% needs them. Even if they adjusted perfectly at 4k miles your way over due for the second one and while they are doing them they will be able to check and see where the noise is coming from and address that. My advice. If you don’t do your own wrenching id start lookin for a reputable shop who is familiar with these and does valves.

If they just charged you 270 for labor on tires and oil change and valve adjustments they’re either a charity shop or lied about the valves and forgot to mention it on the ticket. We will usually tell the specs charge for the shins and labor stated on the invoice. Shims are cheap but we ALWAYS use oem shims. Make sure whoever does them only uses OEM shims. I can’t stress that enough. Doesn’t Matter what manufacturer they’re all the same. But oem is actually Japan heat treated stuff and will be the specs they are stamped. hot cams or any of the cheap China aftermarket stuff your just better off letting them clatter. It’s why it’s best to either let a dealer do it or your Indy shop knows not to use China shims.

You didn't have a Valve service at that price trust me.
First Valve service due on your 636 A1P is at 7,500 Miles and every 7.5K there after.
First service from new is just an Oil & Filter and check over, Tyre Pressures, Chain Adjust & Lub, Etc
