Hello All,

Hoping you could help me figure out why my 08 ZX6R will not start after a year of sitting. I was dumb and left a little fuel in it after I started it last (June 2018) and my fuel pump seized up completely. I have since replaced the fuel pump with a 100L/min pump per the service manual but the bike will not start on its own. I can start it by spraying starter fluid into the intake, but it seems as if the injectors will not spray. I checked with a test light at all 4 primary injectors while cranking the engine and I am getting power to the injectors. I have not verified fuel pressure as I do not have that tool. Any thoughts?

I have tried cleaning out the injectors and replacing the primary rail with a used fuel rail, but still no luck.

Hello, have you’ve looked inside your tank as of yet? I had a similar issue with my buddies bike. His tank was rusted on the inside, which caused his bike to keep killing he fuel pump. Does your pump prime when it turns on?

It does prime. I believe I've narrowed it down to the injectors not receiving proper signal to open. I can manually open the injectors by using 12V and a jumper, but the connectors from the ECU do not open them. The connectors do have 12V when the key is turned on and the pump is priming, but they do not open. When I jump the injectors manually off the bike, I CAN hear them click and open. When they are plugged into the connectors on the bike, they DO NOT click nor open. It's mind boggling.

The tip over sensor is plugged in and in the upright position. What would turn only the injectors off? I was thinking possibly the cam sensor? Any thoughts?

Check for any codes??

Turn on key. Display the odometer. Hold the mode button and if there are any codes it will show them.

I have done that, and no codes appear. I know the cluster works, but no codes come from holding down the mode button while viewing the odometer reading. No F1 codes at all.

To add to the troubleshooting information, I isolated the issue to not receiving the ground from the ECU to the bank of injectors. I have verified positive pulse to injectors from fuel pump relay. What would cause the ECU to not send ground to the injectors? Bad ECU? Camshaft sensor? I'm losing my mind over this bike.
