I have an 06 636. I am trying to improve my bottom end for straight line action. This is my first upgrade and I need to know what changes in chain and sprocket would be most beneficial. I plan to add a power commander and exhaust, but I am still in school and have a limited budget. Any info would be helpful.

go +2 in the back and get a 520 chain but if u want to go crazy fast do -1 in the front and +1 or 2 in the rear but the +2 in the back is the most popular and it still gives you a great top speed hope this helps also use the gearing worksheet in the file vault so you can see what will happen before u do it later

2005/2006 636 comes stock with a 520 chain already.

Front sprocket is a 15 tooth, dropping a tooth in the front will work but will cause the chain to wear out faster.

+2 in the rear will give you what you are looking for.
