06- 636 master cyl - whats compatible?

i know i can throw on a master off any bike but heres what im getting at.

we just finished a complete tear down and build up on my buddies for pre season mods, repairs and maintenance. went to put a bran new set of ASV levers on it and the brake doesnt fit. its a Nissan brand so i assume its actually off a 03/04.

so my option is return the lever to motomummy and pay shipping from Canada to the states and swap it for a 03/04 lever or buy a 05/06 master off ebay.
but then i jsut read that some of the years have master cyl issues...is it just the 05/06 master?
and if its just 05/06 with the issues will any of the newer ones fit the ASV levers we already bought?

05 /06 MC is no good in my opinion. If you are lucky, you mistakenly bought an 07+ lever which means putting on the better 07 +MC.

Posts pick of your mc and lever and someone can probably identify for you

will post a pic after work today.
i just checked ASV's site and it lists the same model number for the 07 as it does for the 2005/06.

the lever came with a brake switch plate that says 05/06 and gsxr and triumph
then it has another bag that says kawi ZX and another one for honda.
so another option by the looks of it is to get a MC off a cbr600rr, im going to test fit the lever on my 600rr.
Doesn't look like an 05/06 master. I just rebuilt mine and upgraded to stainless lines, and still it's nowhere near the lever feel of my 2011 that I used to have.
I believe 07+ had a black master cylinder. I'll check my bike when I get home. I think I also have an 05 MC in the garage I'll check to se what it looks like in comparison to your pic
That's a 03-04. I just swapped mine out for a 09 master

thats what im thinking just based on the ASV lever that i bought.
when i look up the part for the 05/06 and 07+ i get the same part number just with a different brake switch plate...also apparently the same lever for gxsr, cbr and triumph, but the 03/04 has a complete different part number.

i may put a CBR master on the ninja because i came across one for 80 shipped to canada and the lever already fits it..also i know the cbr masters are trouble free, i know that the gsxr ones have been recalled.
how is the 2014 zx6r master?
i found 1 locally, the guy may be on this forum too, not sure.

by the way, this 636 restore project looks amazing. ive got to get permission from my buddy to post it and i want a fresh pick but new stator covers, all oem plastics except the tank cover, but i have a green oem kawi one we are going to get painted and have the metal section of the tank re sprayed.
thres on a full carbon yosh RS5 slip on, cat, servo delete, and back to stock gearing. black rear driven sprocket will be here any day but my local shop had another of some other brand but aluminum in black he gave me. i gota pay for it but its going to be cheap and will have it listed up here in about a week or 2.

only new snag is the previous owner drilled out the rear sets and re tapped them with a massive bolt that to me looks like its for a car engine. so i need to find a machine shop that will drill out, weld in a new sleeve then drill and tap it back to OEM specs.

once we come across a clean set of fork tubes she will be getting a rebuild on them, and eventuallly a new rear shock, i also want to get my hands on the triangle flushmount kawi signals in smoke..the triangle ones. i think thats all thats left to make it stock - ish and restored.

the lever i got is ASV model # BRF 311SK
this comes with 3 kits
Bag#1 - p/n BRC 511-H - honda CBRBrake/Stop tab #1 (going to verify it on my cbr600rr)
Bag #2 - p/n BRC 511-K Kawasaki ZX Brake Stop/ Light tab #2
Bag #3 - p/n BRC 511 - STK "All Suzuki & Triumph Bikes, Kawasaki ZX636R (05-06) Only Brake Stop /Light Tab #3

so my lever should work on all these bikes just be swapping out the tab that they included. which is kinda saving me on this one...

Yes, the 05/06 MC is the one with the known pressure loss issue. Can be easily and cheaply fixed with a rebuild kit.

Fairly certain the 05/06 levers are compatible with the 07+ units, but can someone can verify that for sure?

If thats the case, I highly recommend you just go ahead and buy an 07+ unit.

I upgraded to 07 master and I had to get new levers. My 05 lever didn't fit.

Ok, I guess I was wrong on the lever compatibility. Thanks for verifying.
the ASVS come with a few options, they have screw in tabsthat will make them fit kawi 07+, honda 07+, and it sas all suzuki and triumph.

i managed to scoop up a 2014 zx6r complete master for a fair price, and my ASV lever worked on it.
its probably going on the bike this saturday.

i may be posting a 2003/04 master up for sale soon or ill just clean it and throw it in the spare parts bin.
I don't know about other levers but this should help clarify for asv brake levers (above image)
