Pittrace MotoAmerica 2019

I finally got to race the new 2019 ZX6R in anger.
The bike is super fast and smooth.

So much nicer than my old stuff.

We struggled with rear grip a bit but managed to dial most of it out.

I’ve got to say Thank You !! to my good friend @Otto Man for helping me make the grid once again.

John set the bike up and it allowed me to blistered my PB lap time by 1.7 seconds.

My son spent 4 hrs installing my new graphics kit to give me the best looking bike I’ve ever owned.

Here’s a teaser picture from the weekend.

If you follow the races you know the results already. 😉

More as we go ...

Username checks out... lol just kidding. How do you like the new bike? I currently race a 2009 zx6r but am thinking about upgrading to a 2019 for more power. Because of my gearing setup, I feel like my current bike does not have enough power in the midrange to drive out of certain corners in 2nd gear and as a result, I'm losing loads of time. Ideally I probably should be using 1st gear for those corners but if I change the gearing, it will mess up other corners as a result. What do you think of the power delivery from 8-10k?

We'll get that bike sorted out...just in time for the off season! But at least you'll be swinging out of the gate for the start of the 2020 season. There is another second or two to be had just in the bike setup, we have our work cut out for us on that.

It is always those that use their brakes the least that want to upgrade them the most.

As long as you have it ready for the GNF... I've got a repeat to contest.

Awesome job man, nice to see that Karns Performance sponsor!

What was the issue with rear grip you were running into? Was it something inherent to the ZX6R or a standard issue with suspension/tires?

Bike set-up is very difficult as you know.

Lack of grip can be caused by any of the following... geometry of the bike, spring rates and clicker settings.

Couple that with different tire compounds, pressures and temperatures.

Maybe add in the weather. Sunny, cloudy, hot, cool,..

Then the track conditions ...

As you see the mix gets really confusing...

We threw the book at the bike. It got better. It had more... we just ran out of time to continue...

Is that a Leatt roadracing neck brace? I've seen pictures of them online but wasn't sure if they truly existed LOL
