Body Position / Cornering Thoughts
Let me start by saying I hope everyone is having a good season either on the road and/or on the track. I was able to get a hold of 3 photos from my last track day at PittRace. I rode with N2 for the first time (Novice Group), and was lucky enough to have a coach switch me every lap by either following or leading for the whole session. I received some good feedback on things were I can improve. I hope I say these right, and or they make sense.
1. I turn in late compared to most. (I was informed this wasn't necessarily a bad thing, as I can keep pace, and hold the line)
2. I continue to follow the turn more then I need to. I instead should and come out of the turn wider and stand the bike up sooner. Because I continue to turn in, someone would easily get past me as they would already be upright. By fixing this, I would shave some time off the lap.
3. The amount of lean angle on my bike is impressive. With that, I am able to control the bike, and again continue to hold the line and pace through the turn. (This is the 2nd time I have heard this, from two different coaches from two different organizations).
So, as I am trying to learn and improve each track day. I figured I would ask you guys. I know it is hard only seeing it from a photo and not a video. But If you guys have any thoughts on improvement of my body position, I would like to hear it. And yes I understand I am on a GSXR600, but I feel that I will receive more feedback here then the other forum.
I believe I am coming out of turn 5 at PittRace which is coming up the hill. It looks like the photos were taken in the order I posted them in this thread.
