That's what fast people do man. I remember years ago when I was at my home track for a track day, and I was slower then (like intermediate level), and Jake Holden was there with his team, but his Ducati 1199R was not ready yet, so rather than sit around a friend let him borrow his 1098R. Jake had never been to that track before and never rode a 1098 before. I was all talking smack (jokingly of course) and was like "I'll tow you around for the first laps until you learn the track lol". He passed me on his out lap and I was pushing close to my best pace at the time lol On his 3rd lap he already had gone like 5-6 seconds faster than I ever did and close to the pace of some of the top advance level guys lol Then his bike was ready and another dozen laps later or so he dropped another 7-8 seconds which was within a second of the track lap record lol

I ended up ordering the steering stop. Installing tonight.

Includes self tapping bolt.

Most steering stops I've seen were on the side of the ram air duct.

So that the outer side of the upper fork tube made the contact and thus not breaking off the tab on the lower triple.

What is your thoughts on this set-up ?

Will it save the lower triple ?

If that version was available I would have bought it but this design seems to be intended to protect the frame over the lower triple. I could be wrong though.

I installed it because the ohlins damper stroke with the graves mount kit is about 5mm short of making contact with the stock steering stop so this corrects it. Additionally, it limits the range of steering to help prevent tank slap.

I believe the intended purpose is to mitigate tank slappers and help prevent damage to the side of the bike in the event of a small lowside.
