Good video - that boy has some pace!

I do a fair bit of track days - in Scotland i can run near the top of the fast group, but then a Supersport racer comes along and goes 4s a lap quicker (54s v 50s).

HEad down to England and its near the middle of the group - more competition.

Head over to Spain and i struggle to stay in the fast group with some guys doing 8s a lap faster. Neil Hodgson & Simon Krafar were doing tuition and they could pass at will a bit like your video above.

Then Tito Rabat comes out at lunch time and goes 12s a lap faster (1.48 v 1.36). Sadly I didnt get a chance to be on track at same time - but i would have just been a danger to him

We sit at home and watch MOTOGP and say things like MM is blitzing the field at .3s a lap faster than the nearest rival.....................0.3s!!!

It really puts it in perspective!

I'd say that's pretty good being 12 seconds off a MotoGP guy, and 8 seconds off the pace of the top "normal" people lol I try to gauge myself relative to the lap record but then also have to consider who set that record. At some of the nicer tracks where the record is set by the top MotoAmerica Superbike guys, it's not even a fair comparison lol At some of the more "no-name" tracks, it's usually set by just a club racer and it makes me feel better being closer then lol

I'd love the opportunity to ride some of the well known European tracks. That would be a blast!

I've been on the MX track with guys carrying single digit national numbers and they nearly suck the numbers off your bike as they go by (it looks pretty much like the video above). I'm sure it is even more astounding on pavement with the much higher speeds.

+1. A buddy and I are working on taking a Simon Crafar track school in Spain in the next couple years. It's very much a bucket list item for myself. If I could add Mugello and Jerez to my list of rides I would die a pretty satisfied person.

Hell yeah! Take me with you

I'd love to do Mugello, Imola, Jerez, Phillip Island, Brno, Donington Park, Sachsenring, Portimao and Spa Francorchamps. I mean I know that's a lot, but I'd be happy with any of those lol

I think first I'm going to shoot for Laguna Seca because it's more realistic to accomplish.

FQ had a cold tire highside in the first corner of the first lap at Silverstone. This is a ROOKIE mistake.

Even my stupid ass has never done that

Probably because you handle your own tire warmers. When someone else does all that for you, you simply expect them to do their job right so you don't have to worry about it. Clearly someone fucked up though.

I know a guy (advance track day level with years of experience) who went out with a cold rear slick and didn't even make it onto the track. He high-sided in pit lane just as he was getting on the track lol

Marquez just keeps on smashing records and collecting wins. He doesn't give a shit that he's already champion. True racer!

Fabio is gonna be a real threat next year though. He can ride the shit out of that Yamaha. Anyone know if he's on a 2-year contract with Petronas? Or does is there a chance of a factory team to snag him for next season?

Cant argue with his performance - either today or this year. But has he turned the Honda into a 1 rider bike?
