Sadly, a $40K MotoGP bike won't make me any faster... I'm the weak link on every bike I sit on.

No kidding. We all know Kawi has to be overly dramatic for the politics of it, but they really are pissing on Bautista with their complaining. Sure, Bautista beat Rea and Halsam, but he was also 13.7s ahead of Davies and 36s ahead of Laverty in race 2.

Race 2 and WSS300 race cancelled due to rain. WSS race was probably the most fun one.

Finally Bautista lost, with a 2nd and 3rd in Race 1 and superpole race. Glad to see Davies showing great pace, but unlucky in the first race.

I would be too. This was the first time this season where he had a good chance to fight for a win and he didn't get that opportunity halfway into the first lap.

Well, Race 1 was a snoozer until Rea took out Lowes in the last corner. It looked like a fair move but he got unlucky and snagged Lowes bar end going by and put Lowes on the ground. The announcers pissed and moaned about how Lowes had the inside covered, but he clearly didn't because a ZX-10 fit just fine there. By MX standards that was positively polite. Hopefully Lowes isn't hurt too seriously and can race tomorrow.

IMO Rea was punished too much for that crash.

What did you guys think about the pass Melandri made on Davies? I think Davies changed his line abruptly.

Watch this in slo-mo.

I thought so, too. Dropping him to 4th seemed reasonable and maybe a 3-5 grid position penalty for the next race. He was clearly at fault, but probably 95 times out of 100 Lowes just gets bumped and carries on. This was one of those times he didn't, though, and Rea gets to pay for that.

I thought Melandri was way too ambitious and Davies just turned in like usual, not realizing Melandri was coming in hot. If he wanted to stake a claim to that corner he needs to be beside Davies way before the turn in point. There are a fair number of corners at Jerez where the racing line is wide on the entrance and then they dive for the apex and it leads to moments like that one. I'm curious to hear if Melandri gets penalized for it or not. If Rea deserved a penalty for his move then Melandri does as well.

I've gotta say it's hard to tell who had the worse luck this weekend, Lowes or Davies. It certainly all went wrong for both of them.

Rea is starting to make a comeback. Only 16 points separate him from Bautista's number 1 spot. Bautista's greatest threat is himself lol. Great job by Toprak in his second podium of the year. What's up with the Honda guys HRC needs to get their team in check. The updated bike hasn't proven to be any better than the previous gen. I was hoping Camier would do much better after ditching the MV but still no results. .

Now on to Weathertech Laguna Seca

Interesting damper preferences from Kiyonari. Likes it set to max damping. In 2014 the team used 2 dampers simultaneously! I wonder how his setup is now.

Styles does well here. He'll put the BMW on the podium.
