Zx6r GearBox Problem

Hello my friend!! How are you? Sorry to bother you here, but I needed a lot of help! I am an amateur rider in Brazil, this is my hobbie, but I am confranges gearbox/transmission problems in my zx6 2012!I use quick shifter and Gp shift, and I already had problems with fork shifter, lever-comp-change sha and gears! I have traded several times but they continue to wear out and the gearbox stops working! is there any way to improve it ??
I have been talking to teams from the British Superbike, and they also have problems with the forks and breaks of the transmissions! I have already done under cutting dog ears, but the problems also happen in the forks and lever-comp-change shaft, they told me about the Nova Racing transmission, but I do not know if it would solve! their kit only changes the transmission! Can you help me with this ?? Thanks a lot

Hey Bebeto,

I replaced my tranny, 09, with a low mileage used street only set. Did not undercut, installed carefully with a factory pro star setup. Shifts are a little more positive for me and no failure this season. About 8 race weekends and a little CR duty. Power is mediocre, maybe 115hp with a thin gasket and pump gas.

Qshifter, gp shift

That was supposed to be QS, GP.

The shift star and heavier spring are a plus. Seldom miss a shift.

Are you near Sao Paolo?

Biggest thing that begins the wear on the transmission is the missed shifts and the dreaded "rat-a-tat-tat" as the transmission is in between gears and clashing together inside.

And once it begins wearing, it gets worse at a more rapid rate as it does more and more damage each time.

So with that in mind, the best preventive measure is to not have a mis-shift in the first place. And that's where the shift kit comes into play. With the different star design, and the firmer spring - the transmission locks into the next gear that much more securely, thus not even giving it a chance to be in a false neutral.

I bought the kit, now it's expected to arrive. I've got new forks too. I hope my undecut dogs ear is well done. Yes my friend. I lived in So Paulo for 20 years, today I am 150 kilometers away. Piracicaba, a city in the interior of the state of So Paulo.

if I had known about this kit before, I would not have spent so much money. unfortunately KAWASAKI does not assume manufacturing error. the gearbox is very fragile and flawed. I tried SBK and wsbk teams, but no one likes to get involved

I've got over 50k miles on my 09 ..... 20k of which are hard track miles, no quick shifter, and clutchless upshifting. Stock transmission.... Still smooth as butter. I'm not racing it but I don't baby it either... Just my experience.

Why do I ride as number 69? Well, its a number that you can still read when the bike is upside down after a crash." - Nicky Hayden

yes my friend, but when you take your zx6 to Race, the problems appear. the gear changes are more intense, more constant. It can not be compared to a walking bike or used for a common environment. Thank God your transmission is integrated, because this is very expensive..

I'm not sure what you mean by "walking bike" .... I'm also going to say it again. I've put 20,000 VERY HARD TRACK MILES on the same engine and transmission. I'm not a beginner rider... My transmission is not babied, the clutch isn't even used to upshift, and it's routinely banging off of the rev limiter coming into corners.... I didn't compare apparent sub-par riding abilities to your amazing racing talent. I was comparing my experience with a transmission to yours based on very hard riding and many MANY more miles. (Could probably say it's seen quite a bit of shit in its day). I even stated "I'm not racing mine". But again... I'm the asshole.

I'm also aware of how much the transmission costs. I have a spare. I'm also a mechanic. Maybe you could use my services.

If you're ever out this way come out and I'll show you some lines around a few of the local tracks... I'm always happy to chase a faster guy and learn a few things. Just do me the facor of not bragging about it afterwards. Makes ya look like a dick.

or my friend, you got me wrong. I do not judge your rider. it is always good to see advice from all sides. I had not found such good solutions as the ones you gave me. I would love to use your services, but I'm far away in Brazil. here we have great mechanics as well, but the price of spare parts are very expensive. thanks again for your help
