page 3 has a protocol for ZX6. I just picked up a solo dl. Now, I am trying to figure out if I needed the solo DL2 to even use the new protocol.

Nice. Released 11/14/18. Uses CAN1 line.

It looks like it might be an option for solo dl2 as an ECU. I am trying to figure out how/if I can use the solo dl I just picked up cheap with my 2013 ZX6.

Right now, I think I cannot use the solo dl with my ZX6.

After further research, it looks like my Garmin Virb ultra 30, solo dl, Woolich log box, and Dashware is all I need for data analysis and video overlay.

Can anyone tell me what side headlight stays on? (13+ bikes). Planning on using it as power source.

The right side headlight is the one that stays on.

I've been thinking about picking up a Starlane Corsaro. Does anyone have any experience with one of these?

Starlane Corsaro Laptimer Stealth - Great Prices

It looks like and can most, if not everything an AIM Solo2 DL can do, but they are almost $300 cheaper.

$300 is a new rear Bridgestone V01, lol

You guys all so fancy. Lol

All I have is an old iPhone (free-ish)
Bluetooth connected to a Garmin Glo ($100)
Using the TrackAddict Pro App (only a few $)

Has sectors, sector time, theoretical best, trap speeds, speed/braking zones, complete library of tracks, and exportable data to link up to video via RaceRender for overlays.

I have my solo 2 on the way. Making a custom mount on the ignition hole. @Backmarker gave me the idea to use an expansion plug from the auto parts store.

How's it do with tracking line accuracy around the track? I've heard good and bad about set-ups like these. Any luck when you're at a track with 0 to limited cell service?

Shouldn't need cell service at all, phones have built-in GPS. I've used my old phone which has been disconnected from service on bicycle rides with the Strava app.

2007 ZZR600 (sold)
2006 CBR600 (sold)
2010 1198 (parted out across North America)
2013 CBR500R (sold)
2009 ZX6R (parted out across North America)
2015 R3 (sold)
2018 Ninja 400 (race bike)
2013 RSV4 (race bike)

April 2016 and April 2017 6OTM winner!

That's pretty much what I figured, but you never know. I'm probably going to try the cheap set-up for the end of the season and maybe a few days next year...would rather spend the money on tires and track days lol

Strava irritates me to no end. Mine usually decides to stop working in the last couple miles home and then re-calculates my distance based on a straight line from the last point it was recording. Last week I did 14.1 miles, Strava shut off in the last mile-ish or so and recorded it at 13.2. Not really a big deal....I just hate when shit doesn't work like it is supposed to, modern problems lol

No cell service. It has a dead SIM card just to let the iPhone boot up.

The key to this setup is the connection of the GARMIN GLO via bluetooth to the phone... This overrides the internal GPS tracking of the iPhone and uses the GARMIN GLO to lock on to a satellite (GLONASS - same tech that DaVinci products use) and pings the satellite for data multiple times a second.
The tracking is spot on and is usually only hundredths of second variance from the X2 transponders. I have maybe had 1-2 instances that I've used the setup in the last 4 years or so that the satellite lost me for 2-3 seconds.

Here's a sample of the data overlay used with that entire setup.
Note that the speed (in KMH haha) is super smooth with no jumping. The satellite is locked on and tracking.
