With what Ducati? Dovi's got one seat, and the other one is going to either Petrucci or Miller last I heard. Whatever he ends up riding, I honestly would be surprised if he gets any factory bike. He's going to need to take a satellite ride I think...but knowing him, I'm betting he throws a huge tantrum about it and gets all pissed and just quits MotoGP lol

Just because everyone is speculating that Ducati is going to sign either Miller or Petrux into JLo's current seat doesn't mean it's set in stone. The fact is that Ducati haven't yet signed a contract for their second factory seat, and it "belongs" to one of three people: JLo, Mil, or Pet.

I would love to see him left sitting on the ground after this round of musical rides is up, but the music is still playing.

True, but he should have the lowest chance at that seat out of those 3. His results are lower (he sits below Miller and Petrux in the championship last I checked), and is also being paid more than both of those guys put together...by probably a big margin too! There is just no logical reason for Ducati to sign him IMO.

I think he's being paid more than Miller, Petrux, AND Dovi put together, possibly more than all the other Ducati riders combined. He's definitely not worth it. I agree that I would like to see either of the other two guys in his place.

If this article is to be believed, then JLo makes $2.7 million more than the rest of the Ducati riders combined.
But I'm fairly certain that Dovi's contract has placement bonuses written in so he came out making closer to JLo's $7 million at the end of 2017 and his runner up position in the championship.

I'm not convinced on that article. The figure I had heard before, when Lorenzo went to Ducati, was around 12 million a year and that he was the highest paid rider on the grid in 2017 (and likely 2018 too, but not sure). Of course that could all be wrong...it's just what I had read back then.

I remember hearing that 12 mil figure being thrown out there as well at the time. Hell, it might have even been mentioned by the commentators during a FP or qualifying session IIRC.

"I will be competing in MotoGP next two years, so I will not retire, and it will be with a good bike"

2019 MotoGP without Jorge Lorenzo?

So, it sounds like Lorenzo has already signed <somewhere else> and the news will be released at the next round.

Some additional speculation :

Joan Mir: 'Nothing signed for MotoGP'

Really straightforward article. To me, it seems like Mir is holding out for Honda and Lorenzo wants to make the move to Suzuki. Not surprised

Edit :
I really hope Mir signs with Honda and Pedrosa signs with Suzuki. That would make things much more interesting.

That's a pretty interesting read

Why do I ride as number 69? Well, its a number that you can still read when the bike is upside down after a crash." - Nicky Hayden

All these sound more likely than Jlo staying at DuhCaaadi to be honest. He's never had a good poker face and he really looks like his time is up. As much as I'm not a fan of him as a person (from what i see) I find it hard to imagine Suzuki would choose an unproven rookie over a 5 time world champ. So maybe he goes to Hamamatsu after all...

I think his riding style would really suit the Suzuki also .....sadly

Iannone confirmed to be leaving Suzuki.

Sucks for him if it wasn't his choice. I think he deserved to stay there if he wanted to.

http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2018/0...-season/260398

It would be great to see him back on a Ducati. I don't think anyone else [beside Dovi] would be as competitive as he could be on that bike.

Rins on the other hand ..... blegh.

I can't see Dani leaving Honda for any other team. Honda is Dominating the field right now, and Dani still cant muster anything better than a Lucky 5th place. It's time for Dani to retire, he's an amazing rider, but Honda is wasting money on mid-pack finishes.

I'd love to see AI take the Repsol Seat. He's fast, and deserves a good ride to prove what he's really made of.

There's no way George is staying with Ducati. He is getting paid more than Dovi, Danilo, Miller, + WSBK Factory COMBINED. And he's freggin trash. Look at the last round. Soft+Soft? Come on. Clearly he knew he had no chance of getting a podium, so he throws on S+S So that he can jump out front, lead for a few laps to show off what he's got, then drops like a rock.

I'd love to see George unemployed. But I'd bet he takes a ride with Suzuki before he hangs it up and he's out for good.

I was trippin through all of fp2. Pirro had a horrible crash. I was relived when they finally announced he was conscious.
