Zarco doing better than the factory boys on the 16' Lorenzo spec Yamaha. lol. Maybe he still has a shot at a satellite factory spec Yamaha if Ducati goes ahead and lets him go.

Zarco has a 2018 motor in a 2016 chassis, doesn't he?

If you want the breakdown on fuel management systems, take some time to read this thread.
For a walk through on pulling FI Codes, check out this thread.

Something like that. His Frankenstein bike has the '16 chassis with an "updated" engine which is below a 500rpm limit compared to the '18 spec.

No doubt about that. Only way to be certain is if he races with the '18 spec M1.

To be 100% apples to apples, yes .... but I don't really think it's hard to put together a rationale argument to show the 16 was the best last bike.

Rossi challenged for the championship on it (2016).
Vinales had the fastest pace during every test on it (2016-2017).
Zarco is busting people's balls on it (2017-now).

I honestly don't know why Rossi and Vinales just don't switch back the 2016 bike it like Marquez did via the 2014 bike in 2015 and 2016, and possibly 2017 but that isn't something I remember or can prove.

Multiple journalists state that at this point Yamaha's woes are due to their reluctance to accept outside help from Magneti Marelli. Their '18 spec frame is of similar design to that of the '16. ROSSI: 2018 YAMAHA WILL BE BASED ON 2016 BIKE

That wasn't my text, it was the quotation from the author of the linked article.

Don't misinterpret what I was saying.

I'm saying the 2016 platform itself is just superior to the 2018.

They've also had a longer amount of time to figure out the electronics on that platform compared to something brand new

Chill bruh. . I agree about the platform superiority of the 16... However, I don't think the electronics are as much of an issue with Zarco due to smooth 'Lorenzo' riding style and ability to conserve the tire when compared to the other two, especially Rossi who had a taste of the earlier sophisticated electronics. And before you point it out yes that is conjecture I have no way of proving it nor do I care to. I just want some good racing where MM has some competition.

---

On another note, mad props to Cal for riding on Sunday despite that gnarly high-side. That takes some testicular fortitude.

JLo has no option but to take a huge pay cut to stay with Ducati. All other seats are rumored to be taken.

I don't think he has what it takes to ride the Honda effectively. His two best bets are a Yamaha and a Suzuki, and well Suzuki didn't want to pay him a kings ransom and signed a rookie instead. To get a Yamaha he'd have to humble himself and take a satellite ride, which isn't going to happen. So he'll end up swallowing some pride and signing a performance based contract with Ducati.
