don't do pinebox for the love of your neighbourhood!!!

those things are like a extended straight pipe and you will only be ale to ride it without hearing loss if you use ear plugs!

akro, leo vince or yosh make nice looking exhaust. wouldn't do the cylindrical round shape, looks ugly.

when i said show off with my skills... it took me 2yrs of 3-4x a week of practice on the same "circuit" before i could be taken serious. i meet those who think they can just Do It and leave me behind. takes a lot of knowledge about the specific spots you do/don't wanna hit on that pavement.

I'd say according to your linkings, find an almost bone stock bike. These owners don't temper with the bike or don't even know how so it has never been abused (wheelies, burnouts, stoppies).

What's the point of joining the club if you don't live long enough to enjoy it? If you've never ridden before why would you go for a zx6r because you like the way it looks? The zx3 looks very similar and is a much more appropriate learners bike. People see others riding and must think that looks easy, I'm going to get the fastest middleweight bike in the class!

Exactly. I'm not a speed junky.

I just need help knowing what's a good deal.

I applaud you, you're very good at pretending people that don't agree with you don't exist. Price is all dependent of the particular bike and it's condition; you would know that if you read what people have been telling you (yes even the ones telling you not to get a 6R)

Find some craigslist links and post them up in here and people will tell you if they're a decent idea or not.

Take everything you read the way you like. People on here actually care and look out for our own and are looking out for you believe it or not. We've all read the tragic stories and if it can be avoided people will say something. I've learned in the short term I've been here that people aren't saying these things to upset the new rider. It comes from hundreds of years of combined experience. I ride a zx6r and a zx10r and even though I'm 36 I still play the fool sometimes as when you're having fun and you have that much horsepower and speed at the twist of your wrist you seem to think you're invincible at times. I'm just glad that I learned on a 250. Some of the things that happen to a rider are out of the riders control and a 250 is a lot more forgiving in most situations. There are very few situations I can think of that the 600 would have helped me out when learning... After 18 years of riding on the roads I can honestly say I'm still learning. And learning a lot from these guys!

You misunderstood me. I didn't say "I just need help knowing what is a good deal" because no one has helped me so far. I have received some very helpful responses that I have saved for when I go check out bikes.

I was just re-stating why I made this thread when I said that. Sorry for the confusion. I'm not ignoring them haha.

As for the people telling me not to get a ZX6R, well I'm not ignoring them either. I have responded to what they are saying very politely. Hopefully my politeness isn't getting lost through the internet. It can do that sometimes.

Once again, yes it is probably a better idea to start out on a less powerful bike, however it is my decision and after thinking about it for a year I have decided that (keeping in mind that I am very careful, like to cruise, and have 2 wheel experience with dirt bikes) I will probably be ok, like many other people who have started off on a ZX6R also. Or another bike of similar power.

I'm not at all saying you guys are idiots and that no one should start out on a weaker bike.

I do not think that I'm above starting out on a weaker bike. For my reasons however, I am choosing to start off with a ZX6R. I hope you all can try to understand that and move on from that particular topic haha.

If you have more info about checking out used bikes that you can add to the tips I have already received, then please do so!

I'm glad we have a LAMS scheme here in Australia. It keeps learners off anything that is nothing the power to weight ratio appropriate for learners.

This is a cause for ridiculous insurance premiums, get a noob on a powerful supersport and the insurance companies have to pay up which means that premiums have to go up... It's not helping anyone...

OP - have you looked into the cost of insuring these bikes?

A great deal on a bike can quickly turn sour when you factor in the higher premiums and, in some cases, the inability to actually insure them.

I was looking into 2008 over 2007 because I have heard there has been many problems with the 2007 and a ticking noise which has lead to engine problems? Is that true?

Looks like this is what I would get for 3k when looking at a 2008 haha

2008 Kawasaki Zx6r Ninja 600, Cincinnati / Bethel OH - 111070506 - Cycletrader.com
