New user! 09 ZX6R with mods, needs advice

Hello!

I have a 09 ZX6R with a fair few mods and just want some advice on rearsets! Can anyone tell me what they'd recommend?

On my bike so far I have:

ASV levers
HEL braided hoses
Akrapovic end can with link pipe
Kawasaki rear seat cowel

And I have (but haven't installed yet, going to wait until after the worst of the winter is out the way)

Penske rear shock
Power commander V
HM quickshifter
Roby Moto quick action throttle
Renthal grips

Got a trip to the Nurburgring planned for next year and gunna cram in as many trackdays as my budget will let me!!

Cheers for any help!

Max

Cheers!
I went for the roby moto because i thought it looked good! I have a double bubble in my sights, but am going to wait for a while before I change the gearing cos I'd like to see what gains I get from what I have.

What do you mean by block off plates?

I already have crash protection (gb covers, r&g sliders etc) so im good to go there.

I'll put some pictures up when I work out how to do it, i think i have some from when I had a two bros on it! (far too loud!)

Any ideas on rearsets? Obvious idea is Gilles but i'd like something a bit different and obscure...

cheers!

Max,

it all depends whether you want adjustable or fixed position rear sets. i have Valter Moto fixed position rearsets that are great value at £165.00. Check you can buy spare parts for when you fall off (you will if you do lots of track work)

Expect to pay about £250-300 for adjustable. It may pay to get some bits at the bike show and do a deal.

Gearing wise 15/45 will see you ok at most tracks but 14/45 for mallory.

oh, definately get the steering damper revalved. TBH the rear shock is well up to track days. mine has done 20 days this year and my mate won the michelin power cup with a standard rear shock last year. Changing it is really for show unless your damping has worn out. then i would get it revalved and spend the money saved on tyres.

I have bohemian racing rearsets. Great rearsets for the price.

Ratty i'm from Bedford way too, Shefford in fact. The last pic I put up is Mallory, I love that place.

I have been told about the steering damper re-valve thing. Where did you get it done? If i'm honest there was no need for me to buy the rear shock but it came up cheap so I thought i'd go for it!

Will look at the ValterMoto and Bohemian, cheers. Just looking at the lightech parts too, they look awesome.

I would stay away from Bohemian, for a few extra dollars you can get something race proven, you can go wrong with any other brands mentioned. If I could do it over again I would get the Lighttech or Attack rearsets.

Block off plates are needed to cover your reed valves when get a tune to give an accurate reading as well as gets rid of popping and back firing on decel. I agree as well if you have a link pipe and slip on, you might as well gut the cat and get some real hp gains with the PCV on the dyno. A new air filter would be a good idea, I use a BMC race flter.

Honestly the list of upgrades is endless but you have a good start there so far
