@JOEY11 I'll keep that in mind, I actually just ripped 1-2 in Full power mode today on a back road and damn...it's a different bike haha. Also I actually popped a mini wheeling going up a hill today, went from 5th to 2nd and dropped the clutch w/ a bit too much throttle right in the intersection. The looks were hilarious, maybe if it's nice Wednesday I'll give it another go. Gotta take my time and find a good dead road nearby, perks of living in the county.

As for pics, I'll try to get some posted here Wednesday as that's my day off beside Sunday. The bike has almost 2000 miles on it and it's been just over 3 weeks! Guess I should look into tires soon! I don't do track days, and ride mostly highway miles, but I love to lean her over...I heard Angel GTs are pretty good for mileage/cornering? Other tire recommendations?

Michelin Power RS. Also you should do trackdays. “Leaning her over” on the street ends up badly

What pros/cons come with those tires? Just rear? Both front AND rear? Life span in miles? I ride 60-70 miles/day for work alone.

And by '"leaning her over" on the street ends up badly', are you referring to getting used to clutch-ups/wheelies or cornering? While I will fully admit I'm not a pro street bike rider, I'm nowhere near a noob to bikes or "stunts" (just not with a street bike weight). And I'm also open to any all/advice!

Ok if you’re commuting I’d recommend a sport touring tire like a T30 EVO or similar. And leaning meaning high lean angle

I had a screw deep in my back tire and just purchased a new Bridgestone S21.. getting it installed tomorrow. Excited to test it out! ($123 at motosport.com plus $25 Visa card from Bridgestone)

@Gawernator I keep hearing recommendations for the Pirelli Angel GT tires.

@MizzouRah Let me know how things go for you.

I have ~2500 miles on the OEM Battelax tires currently, they're nice for stock and for a commuter (mostly and currently) I feel like the life is too short for how I've been riding (70 miles round trip for work 5 days/week, mostly 55+mph).

On a side topic, I'm torn between what to do as for exhaust/FC mods. I've been reading @EvilTwin posts about the subject a bit (and tune Subarus myself) but would really like to get a Yoshi R-77 Carbon slip-on and a link-pipe, yet I hear deleting any of the CATs can cause a lean A/F ratio. My dealer says Kawasaki is pretty good about mods as long as they aren't the cause of the failure..SO I'd like to be heard, but if I won't cause damage with the Yoshi R-77 Carbon/link-pipe W/OUT the PCV/Bazzaz...will I regret it 10k miles later this year?

I never had mine tuned to or checked the a/F ration for any lean conditions throughout the rpm's after removing the big box and installing a short slip on right to the header but I've got 32k miles on that setup and it's still running strong but I did insall a Juice Box Pro at the same time so that might have taken care of the fueling.

I run Avon Storm 3D XM tires on my 09. They last in excess of 12,000 miles per set. Nearer to 15K. My commute distance is similar, as are the speeds.

How do you think they compare to the stock Battleax tires? I probably won't put my knee to the ground this year (WNY roads are so dirty and there's too many farms with dust/ect), so for the spirited riding I do I just don't want to get them and find out "oh btw you have to reduce your fun by 45%+. I understand they won't have the exact same grip at something more sticky, but I just hope it's not a take that 90+ turn at 45 now, does that make sense?

Also how are those tires in the rain? Compared to stock in the rain? @Gawernator @MizzouRah @RJ2112

On a side note, I'm having a scenario where sometimes I'll miss 2nd from 1st, regardless of RPM. And the worst part is the noise trying to go into 2nd. At low speeds I just slow down enough to go back to 1st (rev match), but at higher speeds (40+) it makes me cringe. Is this common? Will it destroy my gear(box)?

Are you shifting without the clutch or something?

As for the tires no idea on avon, I don’t think any of the name brand tires are really “bad”.

OP, the only difference I can tell, is when you first start using the Avons, the tread blocks are taller than the OEM tires. This makes the tread more flexible.... Running the tires at the high end of the recommended pressures fixed that.
