Alright guys so here is the situation . So I have a Kawasaki ninja 636 2005 with 43k miles . Starting having this wierd problem where when I hit power band it would skip or big out for a second almost like it wasn't getting gas . So I took the tank off and looked at the inside and fuel pump and discovered there was rust all in everything . So I got a new filter and cleaned the pump and boom that problem was fixed . So far as of now I don't think there is any that got in the injectors but still not 100% sure . So THE PROBLEM NOW . Few days ago I went to start the bike it started then instantly shut off. I thought hmm wierd then started it again and it was okay . The next day it did it again but didn't shit off just bogged out when I hit the starter and then started up . I was in first gear getting on the on ramp slightly uphill when I started gassing it was skipping and bogging out . I tried pulling the throttle more and it did not accelerate so I pulled over . As I sat on the side of the freeway it was spitting and bogging out as I was just sitting in neutral . Then I go to start it and won't even start. The starter works it will turn over but nothing . So, took it all apart today to take a look at everything . Fuel pump assembly works I took out the actual pump and hooked it straight up to a battery and it spit water ( that's what I stuck it in to test ) so I put all that back together. So then I unhooked the end of the whole assembly as in the plug part while it was all put together in the bike and gave it my own power source to see if maybe it electrical. It Started for just a second as I did that . Did another test just sprayed starter fluid in the spot where the air filter goes. It started up as I was pulling the throttle at the same time I was hitting the start button but would only stay on for a minimal 2-3 seconds. So now I'm thinking its electrical. I'm thinking maybe it's the fuel pump relay? I think I found it its on the left side kind of under the seat squished in there . I'm not sure how to test it I was just going to buy another and replace it. Anyone know anything maybe that will help my situation thanks in advance !!

By the way i feel like I don't even hear the fuel pump prime while its hooked up to the bike but when I had it in the bike and took the plug out and made my own power source it would prime but not start because we didn't have it plugged into the ECU it was straight in our own power source

Well the engine will turn over but it wont start since it isnt getting any fuel.

Your fuel pump motor might be bad. Its possible that it works fine when u apply power to it, but when it is under load/pressure it might start crapping out.

Intermittent problems are a bitch but u just gotta keep messing with it til u figure it out. You cant replicate the problem when youre not riding it?
