Valve cover gasket leaking

So as far as replacing a leaky head gasket Is it as simple as removing the head, replacing the gasket adding high temp silicone and torquing it back down ?ive attached some photos of the leak and and I believe thatís what it is but Iíve never cracked open the engine just want to make sure before I do anything I have the service manual and the tools Iíd appreciate any advice or pointers .Also am I going to have to drop the motor to do this or can I do it whit it still in the bike

You probably have a valve cover gasket that is leaking, rather than a head gasket. Oil on top of the valve cover is most likely due to the bolt gaskets, the smog reed valves, or the spark plug gaskets. The lower lip of the valve cover has another gasket.

I would suggest replacing all of them, at the same time.

If you're doing all of that, new plugs, fresh air filter, check the valve clearances...... You're already almost all the way there.
