Running stock seat on my bike and I've got a pair of Bilt textile pants, AGV kevlar jeans. Between those and riding in regular jeans, I've got the same problem of everything bunching around my nut area and being super uncomfortable. I'm 6' 2" and around 192.
What are you guys riding in pants wise? I need a recommendation for something different that won't make even the shortest rides miserable... :frown
I passed up on a number of R6 that I could have bought when I was shopping for a bike, simply because of the angle of the seat pan. Kept pushing me to the front of the seat. That produced the sort of 'wedgie' effect you describe.
I don't have this issue with my '09. The base of the seat is very 'neutral', in that it does not scoot me forward or back.
As it is for street riding I commute in boxers, slacks, and a pair of armored over pants. Mesh in the summer, waterproof insulated textile in the winter. At least four layers of material that could bind up, and I don't have the issue you do. (tee shirt, and shirt tails play into it, too)
Granted, I am roughly 5' 09 with a ~ 31" inseam, the ergos probably come closer to working for me than they do for you.
Rear sets may aide in your fit, as that would give somewhere for your legs to go.
I think the most effective thing you could do is learn to grip the tank with your knees, so your hips don't move forward on the seat. I know that I have trouble with that, when I ride in gear that does not have knee armor. The extra material makes it a lot easier for me to lock my lower torso to the bike by wedging my leg against the tank sides. This may not be as easy for you if your legs don't align with the cut out in the tank sides.
If you have stomp grip or the like on your tank, and can grip it already with your knees, you should be able to prevent forward motion on the seat. I know I will get lazy and use my arms and wrists to brace myself on the bars, rather than use my legs and lower torso..... this can lead to unwanted steering inputs, so it's a really good idea to ensure you always have a light contact with the bars even with braking. If you're doing a push up while braking, you aren't doing it right.
I don't have that problem or I'm just used to it. Maybe my small nuts are a positive in this situation I did have a problem with my crotchal region bunching before getting tank grips like was mentioned above and they have helped.
Have you looked at Mixxmix Store?
I used to get pants from there because they have pretty cheap clothing and has also good quality stuff.
I also recommend you to try the pants from there, I hope you will also like it.
